SAP eCommerce Tech Lead

Role Overview
We are seeking a SAP Commerce Cloud Technical Lead to join our newest Technology Center in Hyderabad, where you will play a pivotal role in enabling the company’s digital transformation journey and driving measurable business outcomes. This role is focused on supporting our Animal Health business, which operates across both B2B and B2C channels, delivering innovative bio-pharma and technology products to healthcare professionals, distributors, and end customers.
As the technical lead, you will be responsible for managing the local team as well as leading the technical design and implementation of SAP Commerce Cloud solution that is secure, scalable, and compliant with industry standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build digital commerce capabilities that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
What will you do in this role:
eCommerce/SAP Commerce Cloud Delivery
- Collaborate with the Global Business Process Lead on eCommerce, commercial stakeholders, and stream leads to ensure appropriate integration of eCommerce processes across the organization.
- Support integrations (ERP/SAP, Payment, Tax, CRM) and front-end frameworks (Spartacus/Composable storefronts).
- Collaborate with architects and DevOps on requirements (including non-functional, performance, scalability, security).
- Help to translate the business requirements into technical requirements and design specifications.
- Support the development of SAP Commerce Cloud and manage daily operations within the eCommerce local Squad.
- Act in a leadership role to provide technical guidance to the development team and other functional and delivery team members.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to eCommerce processes in a timely manner.
- Stay updated on industry trends, SAP advancements, and emerging eCommerce technologies to drive continuous improvement.
- Coordinate releases for SAP Commerce Cloud including pipelines, environments, and change calendars.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Provide clear delivery updates to Product Management, Engineering, QA, UX, and Business stakeholders.
- Facilitate cross-team dependency planning (PI Planning/Quarterly Planning) and risk/issue management.
- Translate technical progress into business value, OKRs, and customer outcomes.
Quality & Compliance
- Champion test automation (unit, integration, contract, E2E) and release quality gates.
- Ensure privacy/security best practices (GDPR), accessibility, SEO, and performance standards for commerce sites.
- Drive incident post-mortems and RCA with action improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent working experience.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in SAP Commerce Cloud/Hybris with experience in eCommerce, Content Management & Migrations, CMS and Supply Chain applications implementations.
- Proven experience – 3-4 full life cycle implementations in leading SAP Commerce Cloud/Hybris (B2C and B2B platforms).
- Experience with implementing (including hands on development) of SAP Commerce Cloud/Hybris eCommerce modules: cart, personalization, catalog, promotions, checkout, order management and customer service and its integration with other applications, like SAP and CRM solutions.
- Proficient with Agile tooling (Jira/Confluence/Azure DevOps), backlog management, and metrics.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including design patterns, scalability, security and performance optimization
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Experience within Spartacus (a nice-to-have) for front-end solutions in SAP Commerce environments
- SAP certification in OTC or related modules is a plus.
