Role Overview:

The Senior Process Safety Engineer provides technical leadership for the

site's Process Safety Management (PSM) program to ensure effective identification, evaluation, and mitigation of major process hazards. This role is responsible for leading process hazard analyses, supporting complex management of change reviews, and driving continuous improvement of the site's process safety systems. The Senior Process Safety Engineer partners closely with operations, engineering, and EHS teams to strengthen process safety performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.

Core Responsibilities:

Sr. Process Safety Engineer

  • Lead and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) across manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical leadership for complex Management of Change (MOC) reviews to ensure appropriate hazard evaluation and risk mitigation.
  • Lead or support process safety incident investigations, identifying root causes and systemic improvements.
  • Provide technical consultation to engineering and operations on process safety risk management and safeguards.

PSM Program Oversight

  • Support implementation and effectiveness of key Process Safety Management program elements, including:
    • Process Hazard Analysis
    • Management of Change
    • Process Safety Information
    • Incident Investigation
    • Compliance audits
  • Provide technical oversight to ensure the quality and consistency of hazard analysis and risk management activities.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve process safety systems, tools, and workflows.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance the site's process safety risk management capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in process safety, chemical manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
  • Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments such as pharmaceutical or specialty chemical facilities.
  • Familiarity with digital process safety systems (e.g., MOC or PSM software platforms).

Salary Range:

The salary range for this role is $120,000-130,000 annually. This range represents a good-faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. In exceptional cases, compensation may exceed the stated range.

All full-time employees are eligible to participate in our annual incentive bonus program. Bonus targets vary by career level and are based on individual and company performance.
