Senior Cost
Accountant
As a Senior Cost Accountant at Astranis you will
act as a key steward of our production costs. In this role, you will help
maintain the systems and policies that keep our mission on track. You will
partner with teams across the business—from Engineering to Supply Chain—to
ensure that inventory movements are captured and cost accurately. This is a
high-impact opportunity to master cost accounting in a complex hardware
environment while ensuring our financial data is as reliable as the satellites
we launch.
This role is ideal for a hands-on inventory and cost professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving operational problems, and wants to have real impact without direct people management responsibilities.
Role
- Lead the monthly inventory subledger reconciliation process, including reconciling transactions between our MES tool and ERP subledger
- Be a key contributor in building out the satellite costing function
- Identify and resolve complex issues, data discrepancies, and process bottlenecks to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with the broader accounting team on month-end and year-end closing activities
- Support financial audits and SOX compliance initiatives by providing necessary documentation and process insights
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in inventory accounting and costing
- Experience in a high-growth manufacturing, hardware, or tech environment
- Strong understanding of internal control frameworks
- Demonstrated expertise in solving complex operational issues
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
- A proactive and organized approach, comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- You thrive in structured chaos, balancing a sense of urgency with a high bar for precision and integrity
Bonus
- CPA or CMA
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite manufacturing module
- Deep knowledge of PLM and MES flows
- Background in supporting financial audits and/or SOX compliance
- A passion for space, engineering, or building complex systems that have a real-world impact
