The Principal Software Engineer, Supply Chain supports QVC, and provides technical leadership for the supply chain platforms and integrations that power inventory movement, fulfillment, logistics, and retail operations.

In this role, you’ll be a senior individual contributor shaping how QVC designs, modernizes, and scales core supply chain technology. You’ll work across enterprise platforms and integrations to design resilient, secure, and scalable solutions that improve operational performance and support business growth. This is a high-impact role for an engineer who can connect strong technical judgment with real business outcomes.

Where You 'll Work

This role is remote; job seekers must reside in one of the following states to be considered: PA, NJ, DE. Occasional travel may be required for this role.

What You 'll Do

  • Design and deliver enterprise-scale supply chain technology solutions that support fulfillment, logistics, inventory movement, and retail operations

  • Define architecture standards, engineering best practices, and governance processes across supply chain platforms and integrations

  • Build scalable and resilient solutions using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, distributed systems, APIs, and event-driven architecture

  • Partner with business leaders, architects, and engineering teams to align technical solutions with operational goals and modernization priorities

  • Lead architecture reviews, design reviews, and code reviews to improve engineering quality, consistency, security, and delivery outcomes

  • Drive modernization across existing applications, integrations, and platforms to improve performance, reliability, and supportability

  • Troubleshoot critical production issues, lead root cause analysis, and implement long-term corrective solutions

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend practical approaches that improve scalability, efficiency, and operational stability

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver secure, compliant, and supportable systems

  • Share expertise across teams by guiding engineers and technical leads on architecture, design patterns, and strong engineering practices

What You 'll Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering or solution architecture, including designing and delivering large-scale enterprise applications

  • Strong expertise in Java and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot

  • Deep knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, system design, scalability, resiliency, and integration architecture

  • Experience building and supporting APIs, event-driven systems, and messaging-based integrations

  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure as code

  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals including SDLC, Agile delivery, test automation, secure coding, code reviews, and design reviews

  • Experience supporting production systems, leading root cause analysis, and improving monitoring, alerting, and incident response

  • Knowledge of supply chain or retail operations domains such as warehouse management, inventory management, fulfillment, logistics, transportation, merchandise flow, or returns processing

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence architecture and technical direction without direct managerial authority

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
