Primary Responsibilities
- Perform daily visual and dimensional inspections of structural steel
- Maintain welder certification testing per the requirements of AWS D1.1
- Administer and evaluate weld tests
- Read and interpret fabrication shop drawings
- Review and update company control processes, procedures, and specifications
- Perform testing of structural bolts per RCSC
- Coordinate and work with outside customer inspectors to perform NDT inspections
- Maintain company Quality Assurance Manual to meet AISC accreditation standards
Minimum Requirements
- Performs additional quality related projects and completes all other duties as assigned.
- Highly organized, thorough, and detail-oriented with ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to communicate with personnel at all organizational levels.
Preferred Requirements
- Holds a current certificate as an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with D1.1 certification.
- 5+ years of relative experience with structural steel welding inspections.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, as well as with customers and vendors.
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Familiar with Bluebeam Revu.
- Familiar with Tekla (Fabsuite).
