Linesperson – Cert III Transmission Overhead
at UGL Regional Linx
UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the ~140km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.
HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.
The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.
The Role:
We are looking for experienced Cert III Transmission Overhead Linespersons to join our Stringing team in Wagga Wagga, NSW on a FIFO basis. HumeLink West has multiple roster options available.
All flights, meals and accommodation in brand new camps will be provided to you
Your responsibilities will include:

Climbing of transmission structures

Upgrade and construction of new and existing assets
- Study and interpret technical drawings, network line diagrams and maps
- Liaise with Network Operator Inspectors and customers
- Complete comprehensive risk assessments
- Maintain work in progress plans
- Installing and maintaining conductors, aerial equipment, and underground cables
- Installing and maintaining all associated electrical supply equipment
- Attending to electrical breakdowns and emergencies.
- Adhering to site specific health and safety policies and procedures.
About you / Key Requirements:

Trade Certification – Cert III ESI – Transmission Overhead (UET30521) or equivalent

Demonstrated working on Overhead Transmission Line projects
- Construction Whitecard
- High Risk Work Licenses: Rigging, Dogging, EWP and Working at Heights
- Tower Rescue
- Any additional HRWL applicable to the role
- Ability to complete a pre employment medical
