The Lead Mammography Technologist is responsible for the daily operational oversight of mammography services at the 61 Lincoln Street Wellness Center. This role functions as both a working technologist and site lead, ensuring high quality imaging, strong patient experience, regulatory readiness, staff coordination, and efficient daily workflow.

The Lead Mammography Technologist supports the growth of the breast imaging program by maintaining excellent clinical standards, reducing access barriers, supporting referring provider relationships, and ensuring patients receive timely, compassionate care.

  • Clinical Operations
  • Performs screening and diagnostic mammography in accordance with department standards, radiologist protocols, MQSA requirements, ACR standards, and hospital policy.
  • Ensures exams are completed accurately, safely, and efficiently.
  • Reviews daily schedules to confirm appropriate exam type, prior imaging availability, patient preparation, and workflow readiness.
  • Works with radiologists to support diagnostic workups, additional views, biopsies, and same day add ons when appropriate.
  • Maintains image quality standards and supports repeat reduction efforts.
  • Ensures equipment is functioning properly and escalates service issues quickly.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current ARRT certification in Radiography.
  • Current ARRT certification in Mammography.
  • Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of mammography experience preferred.
  • Prior lead, charge, or supervisory experience preferred.
