Hebrew/ Judaic Studies Daily Substitute Teacher

Abraham Joshua Heschel School is seeking daily on-call Hebrew/ Judaic Studies substitute teachers for the current and future school years. The rate of pay is $200 per day and $100 for half a day. The substitute teacher may work among divisions and disciplines if interested.

Job Description:

Early Childhood: The typical working day is from 7:45am-3:45pm Monday through Thursday, and 7:45am-1:45pm on Friday. The substitute teacher may be assigned to one classroom for the day or rotate between classrooms as needed. This division serves grades N-K.

Lower School: The typical working day is from 7:45am-3:45pm Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, 7:45am-4:20pm on Wednesday and 7:45am-1:45pm on Friday. The substitute teacher may be assigned to one classroom for the day or rotate between classrooms as needed. This division serves grades 1-5.

Middle School: The typical working day is from 7:45am-4:30pm Monday through Wednesday, 7:45am-3:50pm on Thursday and 7:45am-1:30pm on Friday. The substitute teacher will cover individual periods as needed and may have breaks in between. This division serves grades 6-8.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma; college degree preferred.

  • Experience working with children.

  • Must be available to work full days.
