Animal Care Technician

The purpose of this position is to assist the animal shelter operations and services. This is accomplished by performing duties on a daily basis to maintain office areas, animal kennel areas, provides general care, feeding, exercising and grooming of animals, and assisting the public with adoptions and redemptions. Other animal care related tasks include assisting Animal Services Officers with vaccinations, microchipping and euthanasia, monitoring and observing animals to detect signs of illness or injury, and providing customer service to the general public. The majority of the work (85%) is conducted indoors with extensive physical labor and exposure to heat/cold weather conditions.
