Accounts Payable Specialist

**Position Summary: **

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for overseeing the processing of invoices and payments, as well as managing expense accounts and budget reports. This position will report to the Director of Finance.

The responsibilities of the position include, butarenot limited to:

  • Reviewing and analyzing invoices and expense reports for appropriate documentation prior to payment
  • Performing invoice and general ledger data entry
  • Coding expenses to the proper general ledger accounts and cost centers; recording entries
  • Verifying vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
  • Managing the daily procurement processing workflow
  • Responding to vendor inquiries
  • Researching and resolving invoice discrepancies with vendors
  • Creating new vendor accounts

To be qualified for this position, you must possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration, with one year of experience in an accounting office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite or related software (Microsoft Dynamics GP is a Plus)
  • Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions
  • Excellent supervisory and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
