Senior Financial Analyst - FP&A (SaaS / IaaS)
at Qumulo
Qumulo's cloud data platform manages exabytes of the world's most demanding data, unifying files, objects, and every workload across edge, core, and cloud.
About the role:
Qumulo's finance team plans and forecasts for a growth business that sells on both a consumption and subscription basis. As our Senior Financial Analyst you'll help build cash flow forecasts, plan operating expenses in Adaptive and work with budget owners across the company.
Reporting to our Director of Finance you’ll quickly get to own meaningful projects like our cash flow model or quarterly executive deck, and your work will be highly visible to leadership and the board.
You’ll be joining a small team during a time of rapid growth. We offer the opportunity to experience the entire finance function including cash, planning, commissions, and board reporting, and the ability to grow into FP&A leadership, cloud and consumption finance, or the reporting side.
As a Senior Financial Analyst at Qumulo, you will:
-
Own the quarterly cash flow forecast and the model behind it, from deal terms and billing schedules through to the balance sheet
-
Build and manage operating expense and headcount plans in Workday Adaptive Planning, and run plan-vs-actual reviews with budget owners across the company
-
Model the top line from ACV through bookings, billings, ARR and revenue across subscription and consumption contracts – and show what changes when contract length, payment terms, or pricing change
-
Produce the quarterly executive deck and board and investor reporting
-
Support annual planning and the rolling forecast, and take on departments end to end
-
Help with investor diligence and capital-raising work when it comes up
-
Automate what's repetitive – in Adaptive, Excel, SQL, Python, or with AI tools
Our ideal Senior Financial Analyst will have:
-
3+ years in FP&A or other finance role, including experience inside a SaaS, IaaS, Cloud, or similar technology business
-
Hands on experience with SaaS business models and metrics (ARR, NRR, GRR, bookings and billings, ACV) and how revenue recognition works across subscription and consumption-based contracts
-
Fluency in how the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement connect, plus experience building operating plans and department budgets against them.
-
Advanced Excel, including scenario analysis and variance frameworks you've built yourself.
-
Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning (or Anaplan, Pigment or similar) would be
-
Ability to work on-site at our downtown Seattle office four to five days a week.
-
Bonus points for hands-on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning (or Anaplan, Pigment or similar), ability to script in Python, R, or similar, and/or a demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools for advanced development and analytics use cases.
The annual pay range for the role is USD $100,000 - $140,000 plus benefits and pre-IPO stock options. Individual pay depends on various factors, such as role level, relevant experience, and skills.
Benefits & Perks:
-
Pre-IPO stock options
-
Flexible time-off policy
-
HSA and PPO health insurance options
-
Dental and Vision insurance
-
401(k) plan
-
Choice of an ORCA card or parking subsidy
