Team Member, Talent Strategy & Programming (HYBRID)
at Nexstep Financial Group
At Equitable, we help clients secure their financial well-being so they can pursue long and fulfilling lives - a mission we’ve honed since 1859.
We're individuals from different cultures and backgrounds. Those differences make us stronger as a team and a force for good in our communities. Here, you'll work with dynamic individuals, build your skills and unleash new ways of working and thinking. Are you ready to join an organization that will help unlock your potential?
We are America’s first fully Agile financial services company. We are creating an environment where cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams work independently under a clear set of strategic guidelines, applying Agile working methods to implement their missions. And in so doing, they promote a culture where team members are actively engaged and learning every day.
The mission of the Innovation and Design Office is to increase the metabolism of the enterprise by fundamentally changing the way we think, work and lead as an organization. This includes guiding and executing Equitable’s end-to-end approach to learning, development, talent strategy, innovation strategy and process improvement leveraging Equitable’s New Ways of Working (NWOW).
About the Role
Equitable is looking for a Team Member, Talent Strategy & Programming candidate to join the Talent Strategy & Programming Team, one of several teams within the Innovation & Design Office. You will develop a comprehensive, fit for purpose, data driven talent lifecycle strategy, built from first principles, and deliver fresh programming that targets the right talent with the right opportunities at the right times. You will also partner with senior stakeholders to problem solve, design and develop measurable and impactful data-driven solutions. To succeed in this role, you will need to be able to work independently but also collaborate with and lead others, thrive in an ambiguous environment and have a relentless focus on outcomes. You will be a builder with low-ego energized by the challenges that come with creating new things.
What You’ll Be Doing
-
Continuously improve Equitable’ s enterprise talent strategy, informed by data, to target the right people with the right opportunities at the right times
-
Build new, comprehensive talent segmentation profiles from first principles
-
Collaborate with business and corporate partners to understand talent needs and develop talent programming that support those needs, ensuring our talent strategy aligns to company goals
-
Continually assess talent program portfolio through data driven success measure and qualitative participant and stakeholder feedback
-
Identify and address factors that contribute to employee turnover, implementing strategies that demonstrably improve talent outcomes
-
Execute on fit for purpose talent programs, from coordinating logistics (e.g. rotations, events, demos) to interfacing with key stakeholders (e.g. communicating updates, answering questions, engaging for leadership) and manage participants (e.g. in some cases, owning junior talent performance development) to deliver
-
Work with Organizational Analytics & Reporting and Dynamic Skills Lab teams to make data driven decision on talent populations and deliver world-class learning experiences that drive measurable skill acquisition
What we’re looking for
A passionate talent strategy guru who:
-
Is a first-class problem-solver and excels in future-proofing employees
-
Drills down to root causes to clearly identify and articulate core problems, not symptoms
-
Is able to explore new domains and grasp complex concepts quickly
-
Leverages outside research and industry trends to provide thought leadership
-
Combines strong logical thinking with the ability to formulate creative solutions
An outcome-driven team member who:
-
Takes ownership of workstreams and relentlessly focuses on driving results
-
Is a “do-er” – can build & structure unique curricula aligned to employee segments and NWOW
-
Perseveres in the face of challenges and even thrives on uncertainty and ambiguity
-
Shows good judgment about when to get input or ask for help
-
Is low-ego and willing to do whatever it takes to help the team succeed, however small
An effective listener, communicator, and facilitator who:
-
Actively listens to stakeholders’ needs and can take the perspective of counterparts
-
Synthesize complex ideas into simple language and actionable next steps
-
Brings people together to build consensus and co-create solutions
-
Demonstrates powerful oral and written communications skills
We are looking for a future leader who has established analytical skills, understands the financial services space—specifically, the Retirement and Asset Management industries—is comfortable interacting with executives and is excited to work through Agile principles & practices. Candidates must be comfortable working in a high-profile, dynamic environment and must be willing to support various projects, often simultaneously.
