Clinical Health Psychologist - Outpatient Services

The Division of Psychology and Neuropsychology at Tampa General Hospital, a nationally recognized academic health system, is seeking a full-time Outpatient Clinical Health Psychologist to provide evidence-based psychological services within a multidisciplinary medical setting.
This role is embedded within ambulatory specialty clinics and focuses on the psychological assessment and treatment of patients with chronic medical conditions, with a desired emphasis in chronic pain, Functional Neurological Disorders (FND), and/or rehabilitation psychology. The position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with physicians, rehabilitation specialists, and allied health professionals to deliver integrated, patient- centered care.
The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical skills in health psychology, a collaborative approach to interdisciplinary care, and an interest in contributing to program development, education, and quality improvement initiatives within an academic medical center.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient psychological assessment and evidence-based treatment for patients with chronic medical conditions, including chronic pain, FND, neurologic conditions, and rehabilitation-related concerns
- Deliver brief and longitudinal interventions targeting symptom management, functional improvement, health behavior change, and adjustment to illness or injury
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary medical teams (e.g., neurology, rehabilitation medicine, pain management, physical and occupational therapy) to develop and implement integrated treatment plans
- Conduct psychological evaluations relevant to medical populations, including functional assessments, coping styles, and treatment planning recommendations
- Provide consultation to medical providers regarding psychosocial factors impacting medical outcomes and treatment adherence
- Participate in program development within outpatient specialty clinics and contribute to service line growth as appropriate
- Engage in education and supervision of psychology trainees (practicum students, interns, fellows) consistent with training goals and departmental needs
- Contribute to quality improvement, clinical research, or scholarly activities aligned with departmental and institutional priorities
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record in accordance with institutional standards
