GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the Park Superintendent and Assistant Park Superintendent, this position is responsible for highly complex (senior level) maintenance and construction supervisory work including coordinating the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities, grounds, utilities and equipment, and the administrative duties related to the maintenance functions within Abilene State Park. Supervises, trains and provides leadership to classified, hourly, and volunteer staff. Performs and supervises daily routine maintenance and cleaning of facilities and grounds. Duties include but are not limited to mowing, trimming, garbage collection, preventative maintenance (cleaning/inspecting), carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical repairs and vehicle maintenance. Operates and maintains various types of equipment including hand tools, power tools, mowers, tractors, heavy equipment, and pickup trucks. Assists with enforcing park rules, and special events. Prepares reports and assists in purchasing supplies and materials. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
