About the Position:

At Southern Methodist University, the OIT Project Manager will be part of the Project Management Office (PMO) within Office of Information Technology (OIT). Under general direction, the candidate will be responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and supporting multiple OIT projects - from project initiation to completion.

This position will work with cross functional teams across campus to meet business objectives.

Job leveling (IT Project Manager or Senior IT Project Manager) and compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Essential Functions:

  • Project Management - Lead and manage all aspects of multiple projects including defining project goals, objectives, scope, schedule estimates, resources and cost. Managing and coaching the project team as needed.

  • Communication - Effectively coordinate and communicate progress communication among project teams, customers, and appropriate level of management.

  • Risk Awareness - Pro-actively identify and analyze project risks, plan and implement risk responses.

  • Relationship Building - Develop strong relationships with all project stakeholders.

  • Other Duties - Business Process Analysis, System Analysis, Team Dynamix administration, and other duties as assigned.

  • Change Management – Help individuals and team resources to navigate organizational changes through all aspects of the project lifecycle.

  • Occasional travel for conferences and training may be required.
