Design Engineer (Engineer in Training) Water/Wastewater

As a high-growth firm, Wilson Engineers offers the opportunity to work on impactful and technically challenging projects alongside a talented and passionate team. We are currently seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater EIT Design Engineer join our Tempe, Arizona office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support project delivery by coordinating schedules, budgets, project documentation, and client communications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress, track team deliverables, and help ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Assist Project Managers in preparing engineering studies, technical reports, contract documents, specifications, and project drawings.
  • Develop engineering designs using sound engineering principles and industry-standard software, including AutoCAD.
  • Perform code research and ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and quality control procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and day-to-day support to engineering team members to promote high-quality project execution.
  • Review project deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to final submission.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Chemical Engineering(degrees in other fields WILL NOT*be considered)*; Masters degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering is a plus, but not required (again, degrees in any other field WILL NOT be considered)
  • Possess a strong desire for a career working in the Water and Wastewater field (including the design of treatment facilities, collection systems, booster and pump stations, water, reclaimed water, and wastewater master plans).
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD platforms
