If you are ready to use your expertise to support organizations making a difference — while working in a role that values your thinking — we would love to meet you.
Do you want to be a strategic advisor — not just close the books?
Mission Edge is hiring a client-facing senior-level nonprofit accounting professional who thrives on solving complex problems, advising mission-driven leaders, and using professional judgment — not just following checklists.
Why This Role Matters
Our clients are mission-driven organizations doing meaningful work in their communities, and they rely on us not just for accounting accuracy, but for financial clarity, compliance, and strategic guidance.
You will serve as a trusted advisor, helping nonprofit leaders understand the financial story behind their programs and funding.

- Lead full-cycle accounting and month-end close processes
- Analyze complex nonprofit accounting situations and recommend solutions
- Guide clients on fund restrictions, allocations, and grant reporting
- Communicate directly with executive directors and boards

- A transactional bookkeeping position
- A checklist-only compliance job
- A role where every situation has a predefined answer
What You Will Bring
- 7-10 years of accounting experience with experience in the nonprofit sector
- Full cycle accounting experience (strong understanding/knowledge of and previous experience with GAAP)
- QuickBooks Online experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills - the ability to interact with customers through video and audio tools in a way that is professional, friendly, and reassuring
- Ability to balance the demands and needs of multiple clients at once
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and determination
Who Thrives Here
- Like working directly with clients and advising leaders
- Are energized by solving non-routine accounting challenges
- Want autonomy and trust in your work
- Care about mission-driven organizations
What You’ll Get
- Competitive Compensation
- Company Benefits including:
- Paid vacation time
- Paid volunteer time off
- Paid holidays
- Paid Birthday Day off
- Cell Phone and Internet Stipend
- Paid Sick Leave
- Retirement Plan

- Work and Life Balance
To do your best for our clients and the community, you need to be your best. That requires a healthy balance of work and life. We understand, encourage, and embody that.
Career Development
We empower our team members to try new things and create their own path to
success. Our roles balance autonomy with collaboration, with zero
micromanagement.
