Recruitment Number 23-0724 The Department of Health, Hansen's Disease Control Branch has (1) ONE urgent vacancy located on Kalaupapa Settlement in Kalawao County, on the Island of Molokai. Kalaupapa is a small peninsula on the north shore of Molokai. It is a severely isolated community surrounded by the ocean on three sides and 2,000 foot cliffs on the fourth side. Access into the Settlement is by a small 5-8 passenger commuter airplane; or on foot or mule down a 26-switchback trail down the sea cliffs. Ocean access is limited to only a few months in the summer when the sea is calm enough to allow boats to dock. Kalaupapa is a closed community. By law, only persons authorized by the State...
