Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is expanding with the opening of our second specialty and emergency hospital in Dunwoody, Georgia.
Following the success of our established Marietta hospital, we are building our founding Internal Medicine team and seeking passionate veterinary professionals who want to practice advanced medicine, collaborate with specialists, and make a lasting impact on patient care.

- Veterinary Technicians

Unlike many new hospital openings, your journey begins before our doors open.
Selected team members will begin onboarding and specialty training at our established Marietta hospital beginning August–September 2026.

Advance Your Internal Medicine Career with a Sign-On Bonus Opportunity
We are excited to recognize experienced veterinary professionals joining our Internal Medicine team and supporting advanced specialty patient care.
Candidates with a strong background in Veterinary Internal Medicine, specialty medicine, advanced diagnostics, anesthesia, or complex patient care may qualify for a sign-on bonus based on credentialing, experience, and technical skillset:
- $6,000 Sign-On Bonus available for Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT/RVT/CVT) with strong Internal Medicine, Specialty, or advanced veterinary nursing experience
- $1,000 Sign-On Bonus available for experienced non-licensed Veterinary Technicians or Veterinary Assistants with a strong background supporting Internal Medicine cases, specialty medicine, diagnostics, anesthesia, or complex patient care
Sign-on bonus eligibility is determined based on relevant specialty experience and qualifications and is not available to all applicants.
Your Impact as an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician
Advanced Internal Medicine Nursing
You will:
- Support Internal Medicine consultations and specialty appointments
- Obtain detailed patient histories and clinical information
- Provide advanced nursing care for complex medical cases
- Monitor hospitalized patients and treatment responses
- Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate concerns quickly
- Support long-term disease management plans
Diagnostic and Procedural Support
You will assist with advanced diagnostics including:
- Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Laboratory sample collection and processing
- Cytology preparation
- Urinalysis and diagnostic testing
- Ultrasound preparation and patient positioning
- Endoscopy preparation and recovery
- Fine needle aspirates and biopsy assistance
- Fluid collection procedures
- Reference laboratory coordination
Your attention to detail helps specialists make informed medical decisions.
Client Education and Case Management
Internal Medicine is built on relationships.
You will help clients understand:
- Diagnostic recommendations
- Treatment plans
- Medication administration
- Chronic disease management
- At-home care instructions
You will become a trusted partner helping families navigate some of the most challenging moments in their pet’s healthcare journey.
Specialty Collaboration
Our Internal Medicine team works closely with:
- Emergency and Critical Care
- Cardiology

Who We're Looking For
Successful candidates are veterinary professionals who:

Required Experience
- 1–2+ years of veterinary hospital experience preferred
- Experience in specialty, emergency, urgent care, internal medicine, ICU, or high-volume general practice
- Strong foundation in:
- Patient nursing
- Venipuncture
- IV catheter placement
- Laboratory diagnostics
- Medication administration
- Hospitalized patient monitoring
- Client communication
Preferred Qualifications
- LVT, RVT, or CVT credential
- Previous Internal Medicine experience
- Emergency or Critical Care experience
- Advanced laboratory skills
- Experience managing chronic medical cases
- RECOVER CPR Certification
- Interest in pursuing advanced specialty development
