Operations Clerk - Manufacturing

Job Title: Operations Clerk - Manufacturing

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Milton, PA

Reports to: Plant Superintendent, Milton Steel

**Primary Purpose: **

Under the general supervision of the Plant Superintendent this role independently supports daily plant operations by coordinating shipping and receiving activities, maintaining inventory accuracy for shop supplies and consumable, and performing general administrative support within the manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process incoming materials and supplies, including verification, documentation and entry into the ERP system
  • Coordinate outgoing steel shipments by working closely with production leadership, scheduling transportation, and processing shipping documentation in the ERP system
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels of shop supplies and consumables, including cycle counts, tracking usage and initiating purchase orders to support operational needs
  • Support inventory optimization through organization, monitoring and timely replenishment of materials
  • Answer incoming calls and record employee call-offs in accordance with company procedures
  • Provide cross-coverage and support to other staff as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations

  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of people
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to learn and navigate ERP or other business related software

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Infor Visual Manufacturing or similar ERP/MRP software

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in manufacturing, construction, industrial supply, auto parts or similar industries

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in both office and manufacturing plant environments which requires adherence to proper safety precautions. Work requires some physical effort in the lifting and handling of materials, boxes or equipment.
  • Regular work hours are planned as 6:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday. Overtime will be required based on operational needs.
