Showroom Assistant

at The Future Laboratory

PURPLE, an industry leader in luxury PR representing top names in Fashion, Lifestyle, and Beauty, is actively seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Showroom Assistant to join the New York office. This entry-level position supports the full Showroom team with the daily operations of the showroom, following a hands-on rotation schedule with a focus on sample trafficking, returns, packing and shipping, and maintaining an organized space. A key part of the role is helping follow processes in place for send-outs, returns, and intern support — and ensuring those processes are consistently followed. The Showroom Assistant will also oversee interns each semester and provide hands- on support to all teams as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the flow of all samples coming into and out of the showroom using Launchmetrics/Fashion GPS.
  • Help ensure consistency across send-outs, returns, and dispatch operations.
  • Prepare, pack, and book messengers/couriers or shipments for send-outs, both domestically and internationally.
  • Assist with unboxing, checking in, steaming, and organizing samples.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly showroom and dispatch area at all times.
  • Guide and manage interns (1–2 per semester), ensuring they follow established processes and complete daily tasks.
  • Communicate updates on sample availability, delays, or issues to the US Showroom Manager and relevant account teams.
  • Support showroom pulls, returns, seasonal send-backs, and Press Day or special projects as needed.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE

  • 1+ years previous retail, showroom, or fashion internship experience.
  • Proficiency with Launchmetrics/Fashion GPS preferred but not required (training available).
  • Highly organized, proactive, and process-driven, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to help enforce structure and keep others accountable to established workflows.
  • Professionalism & Teamwork: We are looking for someone who approaches their work with professionalism, a positive attitude, and a willingness to support the team. The ideal candidate is respectful, dependable, open to feedback, and able to remain composed and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable lifting and moving boxes (up to 30 lbs).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and email.
