Why does this role exist?

The company is experiencing a capacity gap in permitting due to increasing project volume and the complexity of county-specific requirements across Georgia. They need a dedicated specialist to own permit applications end-to- end, ensure timely status tracking in Smartsheet, and coordinate documentation between office and construction teams. This role ensures projects move efficiently from application through approval and into construction without delays.

The Impact you’ll make

Permit Tracking and Management

  • Track permit applications across multiple Georgia county portals.
  • Monitor permit progress and update internal Smartsheet tracking systems.
  • Apply for permits through various county-specific online portals.
  • Manage required documentation (construction drawings, county-specific requirements).
  • Update Smartsheet to track permit status from application through approval.
  • Coordinate permit-related information between the office and construction teams.
  • Track construction progress post-permit approval through Smartsheet systems.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required:

  • Proven hands-on experience processing construction permits across multiple municipalities
  • Familiarity with permit applications and tracking across multiple jurisdictions
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate county-specific permitting portals and requirements
  • Construction industry background - exposure to construction documentation, drawings, and project workflows
  • Excellent written English and email communication;

  • Technical: Smartsheet power user; adept with county permitting portals; comfortable using AI tools (e.g., Magic) for drafting/research; strong Grammarly usage; file and version control
  • Process: Exceptionally organized; systems thinker; able to manage many concurrent permits and jurisdictions
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and proactive with stakeholders; strong follow-up and documentation habits
  • Mindset: Self-directed learner who quickly deciphers new county requirements; anticipates roadblocks and proposes solutions

WFH Set-Up:

  • Computer with at least 8GB RAM, an Intel i5 core processor/AMD Ryzen 5 Processor and up.
  • Internet speed of at least 40MBPS
  • Headset with an extended mic that has noise cancellation and a webcam
  • Back-up computer and internet connection
  • Quiet, dedicated workspace at home

  • Monday–Friday, 10:00 am–6:00 pm Eastern Time

Compensation:

  • $7 per hour
  • No benefits package included
