Early Childhood Hebrew and Judaic Studies Teacher

Abraham Joshua Heschel School is seeking a full-time Early Childhood Hebrew and Judaic Studies teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Teachers are the heart and soul of our program. Our faculty works in teams of three to support students' social, emotional, and academic growth. We are looking for an enthusiastic and nurturing educator who is invested in working with young children and weaving Hebrew into the joyful fabric of classroom life. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and be equipped with creativity, flexibility, a sense of humor, and a growth mindset.
Key Responsibilities:

Creating a warm and immersive Hebrew learning environment filled with songs, movement, games, and stories

Fostering a lifelong love and connection to Jewish learning and Israel

Providing patient care and scaffolding as children explore, learn, and play

Building strong relationships with students and families

Developing and implementing engaging Hebrew and Judaic Studies lessons

Differentiating instruction to meet a range of needs and skills

Collaborating closely with colleagues to plan, guide, and support interdisciplinary and experiential activities

Communicating goals and progress with families and the Early Childhood leadership team
Qualifications:

Native Hebrew speaker
-
Degree in Education or related field

U.S. work visa

Experience working with children between the ages of three and six

Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices

Understanding of second-language acquisition

Strength in teaming and multi-tasking in a busy classroom

Commitment to self-reflection and professional development
