Director / Managing Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (MDVM) to lead our
thriving small animal general practice in Houston, Texas. This is an

Medical Director Role Overview
The Medical Director / MDVM is responsible for creating a positive, team- oriented hospital culture where veterinarians and staff deliver exceptional medical care and outstanding client service. In partnership with the Practice Manager and Regional Operations Manager, you will provide medical leadership, manage associate veterinarians, and ensure compliance with veterinary regulations and standards of care.

- Supporting veterinarians in their medical, professional, and administrative development
- Leading team growth through staff meetings, annual reviews, coaching, and mentorship
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring medical and regulatory compliance protocols
- Partnering with regional leadership to assist with annual planning, operational strategy, and practice growth
- Collaborating with hospital leadership to foster a culture of high-quality medicine, teamwork, and financial success
Qualifications & Core Competencies:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), VMD, or equivalent from an accredited veterinary school
- Active veterinary license in good standing in the state of Texas
- Ideally 5+ years of clinical veterinary experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a veterinary setting preferred
- Strong emotional intelligence and people-management skills
- Commitment to gold-standard veterinary medicine and ethical practice
- Proven ability to delegate effectively and drive team performance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Compensation & Benefits Package:
We offer a competitive leadership compensation package designed to support both professional and personal success:
- Competitive Salary: ProSal with no Negative Accrual
- Annual performance bonus for Medical Directors + stipend
- Up to $50,000 sign-on bonus available for experienced candidates
- Ownership or Partnership interest? Equity ownership package with no money out of pocket! Up to $300,000 and annual MD bonus of $15,000
