ESIS AVP Data Management

The AVP, Data Management will provide business leadership, strategic direction, and project oversight for process improvement, technical design, implementation, migration, and change management related to inbound and outbound data files for carriers, customers, and trading partners.

Working closely with ESIS business groups, operations, technology teams, strategic partners, customers, and Chubb resources, this leader will drive project execution, documentation, requirements gathering, solution design, product roadmap development, integration, and delivery of data solutions that support customer and carrier partner needs.

Essential Functions

  • Set the strategic direction for ESIS data management processes and technology, including the development and delivery of new capabilities.
  • Establish and manage a structured process for requirements definition and prioritization to meet carrier partner and client data file needs.
  • Maximize the use of the platform and partner ecosystem to deliver flexible, effective solutions to the carrier market.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and enhanced functionality in data transfer processes.
  • Develop a roadmap and decommission plan for legacy applications and services, as appropriate.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define and implement repeatable, scalable processes for acquiring, transforming, and validating data within the appropriate ESIS system platform.
  • Lead and matrix-manage a team of business analysts, consultants, developers, and third-party partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and clients to identify emerging trends, needs, and opportunities that create value across ESIS and the market.
  • Participate in client and prospect meetings to evaluate new system and service needs based on feedback.
  • Engage in industry forums and events to stay current on market trends and competitive solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the team.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve data quality through new tools, technologies, and process enhancements.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in large-scale data management.
  • 7+ years of experience with SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, or similar SQL and ETL tools.
  • Demonstrated success in IT leadership, including building teams and developing agile processes.
  • Experience managing, coaching, and developing team members, including performance management, goal setting, and supporting accountability and growth.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage third-party partners, and influence senior business and technology stakeholders across complex initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of claims management services.
  • Experience partnering with clients and implementation coordinators to define data requirements and tailor solutions to business needs.
  • Experience defining data standards, controls, stewardship, and remediation processes to improve data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
  • Experience working with sensitive data in regulated environments, with awareness of audit readiness, controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience handling escalations, root-cause analysis, and ongoing support for data feeds or production processes.
  • Experience modernizing platforms and processes to improve efficiency, scalability, data quality, and long-term maintainability.
  • Experience managing budgets, estimating effort, tracking ROI, and supporting investment decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong decision-making and prioritization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly build business acumen within a given industry or customer segment.
  • Knowledge of business KPIs, preferably within the risk, insurance, and claims industry.

  • Familiarity with SQL for managing relational databases and performing basic data operations.
  • Self-motivated and innovative, with the ability to set direction, manage work independently, and drive results through others.

The base salary range for the role is $183,700 to $267,300. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
