Intern - Service College

HOLT CAT is looking for a College Intern to work with our CAT Support team and will be under the direct guidance of an experienced Shop Service Supervisor to receive on-the-job training. The intern's primary purpose is to learn and develop an understanding of the overall CAT Support Service Department operation.
Essential Functions
- Receive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from leadership
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
- Perform maintenance
- Help install, repair, and replace mechanical and electronic components
- Clean and/or lubricate machines
- Examine and test equipment, components, and parts to ensure the proper functioning
- Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools
- Adjust, maintain, and repair equipment and machine components
- Perform welding and other NDT tasks to ensure standards are met
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Basic computer skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Time management and organizational skills
- Basic math calculations and the ability to read, write, and understand work instructions
Requirements
Education and Experience:
· Currently enrolled in a College or Technical School Welding program
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Travel:
· No travel is expected for this position
Physical Requirements:
· This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to
exchange accurate information in these situations
Work Environment:
· Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
