Position Summary:
The Continuous Improvement Engineer leads the execution of Lean, Kaizen, and quality improvement initiatives across site operations. Partnering with Operations leadership, this role translates operational goals into structured improvement programs that drive productivity, efficiency, and cost savings.
The role manages a portfolio of continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and Lean Six Sigma projects. It coordinates cross-functional teams to deliver measurable improvements in quality, performance, and operational effectiveness while aligning with site and organizational targets.
This position combines hands-on improvement execution with program-level oversight, supporting the development of Lean capabilities, training team members, and advancing Operational Excellence practices across the organization.
Key Deliverables:
- Drive delivery of Kaizen, Rapid Improvement (Blitz Kaizen), and Value Stream Mapping initiatives in alignment with Operations priorities
- Manage the site Continuous Improvement project portfolio, including Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Green Belt projects, ensuring execution and results delivery
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement improvement initiatives and sustain outcomes from Kaizen activities
- Achieve measurable productivity and quality improvements aligned to Lean Six Sigma Green Belt standards
- Align CI initiatives with site performance targets, including cost savings and productivity goals
- Maintain CI tracking tools to monitor project progress, validate savings with finance partners, and uphold data integrity
- Support development and implementation of quality and productivity management tools, including KPI tracking at process and site levels
- Evaluate end-to-end processes to identify non-value-added activities and drive improvements in efficiency, flow, and consistency
- Facilitate Kaizen events, workshops, and rapid improvement sessions to deliver measurable operational improvements
- Translate data, performance metrics, and financial insights into actionable improvement initiatives with clear business impact
- Drive adoption of process changes by engaging stakeholders and reinforcing continuous improvement practices across teams
- Partner with Operations leadership to advance Operational Excellence practices and continuous improvement maturity
- Support development of Lean Six Sigma capabilities by identifying, mentoring, and guiding Yellow Belt and Green Belt candidates
- Deliver training and coaching to team members on Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Develop and maintain structured documentation including project plans, value stream maps, and performance reporting
- Identify risks, constraints, and improvement opportunities and drive mitigation and resolution strategies** **
Required Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Green Belt certification required; Black Belt preferred
- 3+ years of experience in Lean, Continuous Improvement, or process improvement roles
- Experience delivering Kaizen, Rapid Improvement, or Value Stream Mapping initiatives
- Experience managing cross-functional improvement projects within operations or logistics environments
- Strong understanding of Lean principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Experience tracking and reporting performance metrics, including cost savings and productivity improvements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including business and financial acumen (P&L awareness)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Self-directed with strong organizational and time management capabilities
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, or distribution operations
- Experience supporting Lean Six Sigma training and capability development (Yellow Belt / Green Belt)
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab
- Experience with CAD or process visualization tools
- Experience supporting Operational Excellence or enterprise-wide CI programs
