ABX MGR MAINTENANCE CONTROL

SUMMARY: The Manager of Maintenance Control will manage the Maintenance Control Department, ensuring a high level of aircraft dispatch reliability and ABX system integrity. This role will coordinate with maintenance executive staff for reporting and incident procedures. This role also requires the ability to travel.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide overall direction, communication, and control for the maintenance/engineering division for all out-of-service aircraft, accidents/incidents, maintenance delays/cancellations, returns/diversions due to mechanical issues, and other maintenance irregularities
- Notify maintenance executive staff and prepare reports for all irregularities/accidents/incidents
- Authorize deferral of inoperative aircraft equipment in accordance with FAA MEL/CDL requirements
- responsible for ensuring the airworthiness and safe operation of all ABX aircraft systemwide
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This role oversees the Maintenance Control Department and controls the maintenance/engineering division
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma/GED
- A & P license
- Eight (8) years experience in the maintenance of heavy transport aircraft of which 2 years were as a maintenance controller or supervisor in a line maintenance environment
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Very good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with ABX network, Word, Excel, Focus
- Comprehensive knowledge of Maintenance Control aircraft systems and ABX operations
- Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and ABX Maintenance Control procedures and processes
- Ability to travel
PREFERRED:
- Prefer ABX Maintenance Control or ABX Line Maintenance Management experience
- 3 years experience on type aircraft operated by ABX
