HOW YOU CAN HELP US

As ABC’s Lawn Specialist Trainer you will be responsible for providing high quality landscape maintenance training for new employees while still providing exceptional customer service to all customers of ABC. This position is a crew leader with training responsibilities of new team members and carries the responsibility and accountability of the team’s performance. The trainer will coach and mentor new employees on ABC policies, procedures, and standards as well as Lead Line opportunities. Trainer will communicate directly with Service Managers about new employee performance and progress. The Trainer will determine when a new employee has executed all training requirements to ABC standards before being released to a production crew. Trainers will also determine whether a new employee can adapt to ABC Lawn Maintenance Standards and hold them up from advancing to a crew or remain employed with ABC.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • This is an active working role, where you are the crew leader on a designated training route.
  • Ensures that new employees understand and able to operate the customer information and schedule platform
  • Coach on reading all notes added to route to make sure that additional and special instructions are followed.
  • Trains on the proper use of personal protective equipment required by ABC Safety Standards for service being provided.
  • Instruct new crew members in the proper way of handling mowing equipment, and safety procedures in handling that equipment.
  • Each piece of equipment will have a recommended time of operation by new employees, and it is the responsibility of the trainer to track that time for each new employee
  • Ensures mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and all other lawn maintenance work is done in a professional manner.
  • Trains to follow the Quality Counts Program maximizing output of the team through motivation and participation.
  • Directs workflow and work performed by other members of the crew ensuring that employees understand teamwork and even distribution of the workload.
  • Train in how to become familiar with service contracts and executes above and beyond customer expectations.
  • Trains to performs daily routine equipment checks such as greases equipment, checks oil, checks blades for replacement or sharpens, reports any malfunctions for repair to equipment repair platform “Maintain X.”
  • Trains to ensure that all equipment needed for work is in working order daily, loaded and secured properly prior to leaving the shop.
  • Performs Daily Vehicle and Trailer Inspections to ensure trailer lights are working properly, including trailer gate, ensures equipment is properly secured, tire pressure and condition are appropriate, trailer ramps are secure and present, all safety clips are operational, immediately reports any items that need to be addressed prior to leaving the shop to Maintenance Facilities Mechanics. Schedules for repairs of non-urgent items on the “Maintain X” app.
  • Immediately report any damage to a customer’s property to Crew Chief and Service Manager.
  • Train to perform a thorough property walk before leaving the customer’s property to inspect the work area, ensuring all maintenance was provided according to contracted services and Quality Counts Program and ensure that no tools are left behind.
  • Train for expected daily route goals and informs Service Manager of all resets, skipped services, work not completed and work projected to not be completed, daily by 3:30PM.
  • Inspect all equipment when moved to a new trailer (see Service Manager for checklist).
  • Train how to inspect vehicles and trailers daily and what the procedure is for when new equipment, truck or trailer is assigned (see Service Manager for checklist).
  • Responsible for knowing and following all company and department policies and protocols, including the PTO policy.
  • Attend required department meetings and company or vendor training as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
