Position Overview:

The Histotechnologist will perform histology services and provide support for the Artivion in-house pathology laboratory.

Responsibilities:

  • Properly operate and maintain tissue processing equipment.
  • Prepare microscopic slides by processing samples, embedding into paraffin, cutting blocks on microtome, and routine staining.
  • Perform special histologic stains as requested.
  • Manage pathology laboratory supply inventory.
  • Prepare specimens for return shipment as required.
  • Perform selected gross examinations as assigned.
  • Assist with generating reports as requested.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the pathologist or Medical Director.
  • Must be available to work Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 4:00PM.

Qualifications:

  • General laboratory experience required.
  • Two years' experience in histotechnology preferred.
  • Skilled in routine and special histochemistry preferred.
