Position Overview: Assembles and installs pipe systems, pipe supports for industrial production and processing systems while referring to blueprints and other documentation. Other related duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
- Support a philosophy of zero accidents by following all applicable safety procedures and maintaining equipment to operate in the safest way possible
- Measures and marks pipe for cutting and threading according to specifications
- Cuts pipe, using saws, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine
- Threads pipe, using pipe threading machine
- Assembles and installs a variety of metal and non-metal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron,
- steel, copper, and plastic
- Connects pipes, using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools
- Secures piping to structures with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools
- Install insulation in various product types, utilizing a respiratory protection as required.
- Support Manufacturing Engineering on improvement projects
- Support the efforts of Lean and Continuous Improvement teams
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and rules.
- Create and maintain a safe and sanitary working environment.
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Flexibility to work hours necessary to meet plant requirement
What we're looking for
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, equivalent, or two (2) years work experience.
- Requires a minimum of one year of related work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Basic understanding of hand and power tools and proper use
- Ability to read and use tape measure accuracy
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of facility location will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Blue print reading and knowledge

- Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps and use ladder.
- Ability to reach overhead; have full range of mobility in upper and lower body
- Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands and fingers
- Ability to work in different environment working conditions (heat, cold, rain and humidity)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds following safety procedures.
- Vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Other Skills/Abilities:
- Good written/oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of machines, tools, their uses benefits, and maintenance
- Ability to read level and tape measure with accuracy
- Ability to understand production (SOP/Work Instructions), procedures and safety
- Knowledge of inputs, outputs, raw materials, waste, quality control, assets, and techniques used for maximizing the manufacturing of products
