Senior Civil Engineer (PE)

Artheon is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer (PE) to join our team. Artheon brings together several established consulting engineering firms including Churchill Consulting Engineers, CME Associates, and Naik Consulting Group, forming a collaborative organization of more than 600 professionals delivering complex infrastructure solutions across transportation, utilities, and public works.
The Senior Civil Engineer (PE) will have an emphasis in highway and roadway design. The successful candidate will be supporting our Civil/Highway Design Services group located in the East Brunswick, NJ office. The work will employ fundamental principles including surveying, trigonometry, geometrics, fluid mechanics, utility coordination (including relocation and agreements), hydrology and hydraulics, cost estimating, and transportation engineering while using applicable software. The candidate will be involved in and complete all phases of infrastructure project development. The candidate will report directly to the Director of Civil/Highway Design Services.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of roadway, highway, and transportation projects in accordance with federal, state, and local standards (e.g., AASHTO, DOT, FHWA)
- Prepare and review plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
- Oversee and mentor junior engineers and design staff throughout project lifecycle
- Coordinate with clients, agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and scopes, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards
- Conduct site visits and provide construction support services as needed
- Stay current on industry trends, codes, and innovative design technologies
- Assistant in proposal coordination process as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's Degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in civil engineering with an emphasis in highway and roadway design projects
- Engineer in Training (EIT) License required
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in NY/NJ strongly preferred for candidates with 6+ years of experience
- Proficiency in CADD (MicroStation and InRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D), AutoTURN, Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) along with various other civil design applications
- Experience in the production of plans, specifications, and engineer’s estimates for roadway projects for NJDOT, NJTA, PANYNJ, and County or Municipal agencies
- A firm grasp of roadway engineering skills such as geometric design, grading, permitting, coordination with utility companies and the production of utility schemes of accommodation, roadway drainage design, 3D roadway modeling, etc.
