IT Manager
To maintain and implement the company's computer, communication, and management information systems, including all software and hardware.
The IT Manager is a salary exempt position that reports to the Chief Financial Officer
Primary Objectives:
- Ensure reliable and secure IT infrastructure and systems across the organization. (Approx. 30% of total job function)
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues. (Approx. 40% of total job function)
- Develop and enforce IT policies, disaster recovery plans, and compliance measures. (Approx. 30% of total job function)
Development of the Position
As technology evolves, this position will increasingly focus on cybersecurity, cloud-based solutions, and automation to improve efficiency and data protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain company IT infrastructure including servers, networks, workstations, and warehouse technology systems
- Provide Tier 1-2 technical support to staff across office, warehouse, and field sales operations
- Oversee administration of key business systems including ERP/distribution management software, route accounting platforms, and Microsoft 365
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and managed service providers for specialized support and procurement
- Maintain cybersecurity practices including patch management, endpoint protection, user access controls, and data backup/recovery
- Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and acceptable use guidelines
- Manage hardware and software inventory; oversee equipment procurement and lifecycle management
- Support onboarding/offboarding processes by provisioning and decommissioning user accounts and devices
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve operational efficiency in distribution, logistics, and sales
- Document systems, processes, and incidents to build a reliable internal knowledge base
Position Requirements
- Strong mechanical, technical support, and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, networking fundamentals, and Microsoft 365 administration, internet software, database software, network infrastructure, workstation operating systems, printers, switches, routers, firewalls, wireless networking, portable printers, audio/video equipment
- Experience with Apple products (setup, troubleshooting, etc.)
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years' experience in a related field
