Quality Engineer
at Mohre Soft Water
Coordinates activities to ensure the quality of the products being manufactured, and reports quality statistics for each production department. Supports the different production departments in making quality‑related decisions.
Key Responsibilities
• Administration of complaints from external and internal customers.
• Analysis of returns from Sister Plants, follow-up, and closure.
• Rework of products due to returns from Sister Plants.
• Administration of NCRs, follow-up, and closure.
• Keeps the Production Supervisor informed of quality issues.
• Generates weekly informational reports on quality status by department.
• Contacts and communicates any type of improvement or quality correction in
the product or its components to our suppliers, other Franklin Electric
plants, or corporate offices.
• Reviews the weekly publication of DPPM charts in production areas.
• Responsible for creating Acceptance Criteria (RCC‑7900‑0012) for products
and component parts together with the Quality Manager, Manufacturing
Engineers, or Product Engineers. Defines, together with Manufacturing
Engineers, the inspections to be performed according to requirements
established in GFIs, EMS, and drawings.
• Responsible for creating the Incoming Material Inspection Plans
(RCC‑7900‑008) For each part number received in Incoming Inspection.
• Responsible for creating Control Plans (RCC‑7900‑025).
• Demonstrate commitment by leading and supporting the personnel under their
responsibility to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality system.
• Promote and communicate the results and/or effectiveness of their
processes, as well as any actions and/or reaction plans when applicable.
• Meet the quality objectives of the position and support the company’s
strategic objectives.
• Comply with all Quality System guidelines.
• Maintain company tools and equipment in good condition—clean, safe, and
suitable for work.
• Perform work with quality, meeting required standards, minimizing company
risk related to complaints and rejections due to poor-quality products.
Participate in the company’s continuous improvement projects.
• Follow up on corrective actions from the Quality System as applicable.
• Fulfill the relevant roles assigned by management as applicable (e.g.,
Emergency Brigades, Auditors, Mentors).
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
EDUCATION: Engineering or bachelor’s degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Personnel management (desirable), knowledge of quality
systems, interpretation of statistical data.
SKILLS: Teamwork, leadership, verbal and written communication in English,
communication skills to train and guide others.
INITIAL TRAINING: Use and handling of PC, Quality monitoring and
measurement, Nonconforming material, Explanation of the DPPM system, Use and
management of the QMS, Use and management of E1, Use and management of MP for
systems and maintenance, Interpretation of BOM, Interpretation of Engineering
Drawings, Use and creation of quality alerts, Creation of audit instructions,
Use and handling of measuring equipment, Explanation of product manufacturing
processes, Knowledge of incoming inspection, Knowledge of metrology equipment,
Knowledge of each production line, Technical information from Intranet,
Franklin Electric terminology and acronyms.
