We're looking for a compassionate and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our growing team. Here is What Your day May Consist of:

As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you'll play an integral role in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting our veterinarians, clients, and fellow team members.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures
  • Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, laboratory procedures, and other technical nursing skills within your credentialed scope of practice
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and provide compassionate nursing care
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
  • Safely handle and restrain dogs, cats, and exotic pets (experience with exotics is a plus)
  • Process laboratory samples and maintain accurate medical records
  • Educate clients on medications, preventive care, prescription diets, wellness plans, and discharge instructions
  • Reinforce veterinarian recommendations and promote exceptional client communication
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment area, pharmacy, exam rooms, and patient wards
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical instruments and equipment
  • Collaborate with doctors, technicians, assistants, and client service representatives to provide outstanding patient care
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the hospital and patient care

Here is What You Will Bring to the Position:

  • Current Virginia Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential or eligibility for licensure
  • Previous veterinary experience preferred
  • Strong technical nursing and patient care skills
  • Excellent communication and client education skills
  • Compassionate, dependable, and self-motivated
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive, collaborative team player
  • Comfortable working evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary
