You will work with leading mining organisations to deliver transformation at scale, improving safety, strengthening operational performance, and advancing sustainability outcomes. As a key member of the leadership team, you will drive client growth, shape strategic engagements, and play a critical role in expanding our presence within this priority industry.

Your Impact at dss+

You will play a key leadership role in growing our business and delivering transformational impact for clients. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will shape strategic engagements, develop market opportunities, and lead high-performing teams across complex consulting programmes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Driving business development and expanding strategic client relationships across the Metals & Mining sector

• Leading large-scale consulting engagements and ensuring delivery excellence and measurable impact

• Developing and managing a strong pipeline of opportunities within South Africa and broader Africa markets

• Engaging with C-suite stakeholders and senior leadership teams

• Leading and developing consulting teams, building capability and high performance

• Contributing to industry positioning, thought leadership, and market growth

• Supporting the development of methodologies, offerings, and strategic initiatives within Metals & Mining

Who You Are

You bring strong analytical thinking, a strategic mindset, and the ability to operate effectively in complex, international environments. You are confident engaging senior stakeholders, leading teams, and delivering meaningful impact in high-risk operational settings.

Experience

• Significant experience in management consulting and/or mining operations environments

• Deep expertise within the Metals & Mining sector

• Proven track record leading large-scale transformation programmes

• Strong experience developing client relationships and driving business growth

• Experience across safety, operational performance, sustainability, or operational excellence

Capabilities

• Strong commercial and strategic capability

• Ability to influence and engage C-suite and executive stakeholders

• Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team development experience

• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive growth in a dynamic market

Education & Languages

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA advantageous

• Fluency in English required

Mobility

• Willingness to travel across South Africa and internationally as required
