FULL-TIME DAYS
The Dishwasher completes all the required tasks for patient tray cart delivery/pick up and/or pot and pan cleaning as well as departmental sanitation. Other related duties as assigned.
General Functions:
- Washes pots and pans by hand and by machine according to food safety standards
- Cleans and sanitizes dishes
- Collects soiled items from cafeteria/lounges/nursing units
- Operates, cleans, and sanitizes necessary equipment
- Sweeps and mops all areas of the department
- Collects and dispose of trash
- Transports food to other areas as needed
- Transports carts to and from other units while respecting hospital property /
- Utilizes equipment and chemicals safely
- Monitors, corrects, and logs sanitation control
- Reports equipment malfunctions/concerns
- Adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations
- Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
- Maintains safe environment
- Addresses patient population-specific needs
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Able to read, write and understand the English language.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year of experience
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE : ANSI Accredited Texas Food Handler or ANSI Accredited Food Manager course or Certified Food Manager from the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District
