Cement Mason

We are seeking skilled and motivated Cement Masons to join our team for union projects involving concrete polishing and epoxy floor coating applications. As a Cement Mason, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality finishes in commercial and industrial settings. This is a union position offering competitive wages and full benefits per the current labor agreement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grind, hone, and polish concrete surfaces using heavy-duty polishing equipment.
  • Apply epoxy and resinous coatings to prepared surfaces in accordance with project specifications.
  • Perform surface preparation tasks such as shot blasting, diamond grinding, and crack/chip repair.
  • Mix, apply, and finish epoxy resins and overlays with precision and attention to detail.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project drawings.
  • Maintain and operate polishing and coating equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all safety procedures and adhere to OSHA and union guidelines.
  • Collaborate with job foremen and other trades to ensure quality and schedule adherence.
  • Keep accurate records of materials, hours, and project notes as required.

Requirements:

  • Union membership in good standing or willingness to join (if applicable).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in polished concrete and/or epoxy floor systems.
  • Proficiency with floor grinders, polishers, shot blasters, and related equipment.
  • Knowledge of various epoxy systems including 100% solids, quartz, flake, and urethane topcoats.
  • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, or confined spaces if required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Experience with decorative concrete finishes, overlays, and staining techniques.
