Job Overview
The Aide Special Education - Job Coach GR will provide support/services to
students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings in order to
access the curriculum in the student's least restrictive environment. Assist
teacher and staff in performing a variety of tasks by implementing and/or
documenting the student's individualized education plan. Maintain an
environment that is safe and engaging for all students.
Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Service Delivery
- Interact with students in a variety of settings to ensure student safety and engagement (e.g., community/campus sites, classroom, hallways restroom, arrival/departure)
- Assist with student management by maintaining alert attention regarding supervision of students at all times in a variety of settings
- Execute behavioral strategies as identified by the teacher based upon ARD documents (e.g., reinforcements, consequences, contingencies)
- Collaborate with campus special education teachers on developing task analysis and implementation of job/work related skills from student’s IEPs
- Assist students with personal care services and mobility (e.g., feeding, cleaning, dressing, lifting, positioning, transitioning, toileting, changing and arrival/departure)
Compliance
- Maintain data, documentation, and student’s progress in collaboration with the teachers while students participate in campus and community training assignments
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and secure proper forms for emergency procedures
