The Construction General Superintendent is responsible for leading, managing, and overseeing field operations for multiple waterproofing construction projects. This role ensures that projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company standards, contract documents, manufacturer specifications, and client expectations.

The General Superintendent will provide leadership to Superintendents, Foremen, field crews, subcontractors, and trade partners. This position is responsible for coordinating manpower, equipment, materials, project schedules, field productivity, safety compliance, quality control, and day-to- day field execution.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on field leader with strong experience in commercial waterproofing, building envelope systems, restoration, roofing, below-grade waterproofing, traffic coatings, sealants, expansion joints, air/vapor barriers, and related scopes of work.

This role requires a strong understanding of construction sequencing, field coordination, project documentation, safety procedures, labor management, and client communication. Travel to project sites may be required.


Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee field operations for multiple waterproofing construction projects.

• Supervise and support Superintendents, Foremen, field crews, subcontractors, and labor teams.

• Coordinate daily and weekly field activities, project schedules, manpower needs, equipment, materials, and production goals.

• Ensure waterproofing work is installed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, manufacturer requirements, industry standards, and company quality expectations.

• Oversee waterproofing scopes including, but not limited to, below-grade waterproofing, deck coatings, traffic coatings, sealants, caulking, expansion joints, air barriers, vapor barriers, fluid-applied systems, sheet membrane systems, building envelope restoration, and related commercial waterproofing work.

• Review construction documents, project plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, schedules, and jobsite requirements to support proper field execution.

• Monitor project progress, field productivity, labor performance, material usage, quality, and overall site conditions.

• Work closely with Project Managers and Senior Leadership to maintain project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, and production targets.

• Assist with project planning, sequencing, logistics, and recovery plans when schedule or budget issues arise.

• Conduct regular jobsite visits to inspect work, verify installation quality, identify risks, and ensure proper project execution.

• Maintain a strong jobsite safety culture by enforcing company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, PPE requirements, fall protection procedures, and site-specific safety plans.

• Participate in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, toolbox talks, inspections, and corrective action follow-up.

• Coordinate with general contractors, owners, inspectors, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve field issues and maintain project momentum.

• Assist in identifying change order opportunities, scope gaps, field conflicts, and additional work requirements.

• Support the preparation and maintenance of daily reports, production logs, manpower reports, safety documentation, project updates, and other operational records.

• Ensure crews have the tools, equipment, materials, information, and support needed to complete work safely and efficiently.

• Train, mentor, coach, and develop Superintendents, Foremen, and field employees.

• Evaluate field team performance and help build a strong, accountable, safety-focused, and production-driven workforce.

• Support quality control procedures, including mockups, inspections, manufacturer requirements, punch list completion, and final project closeout.

• Help resolve jobsite challenges, labor issues, scheduling conflicts, material delays, and coordination problems.

• Promote professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and strong communication across all field operations.

Qualifications

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

• 7-10+ years of construction field leadership experience preferred.

• 5+ years of experience in waterproofing, commercial construction, restoration, roofing, building envelope, or related specialty construction preferred.

• Previous experience as a Superintendent, General Superintendent, Field Operations Manager, or similar field leadership role.

• Strong knowledge of commercial waterproofing systems, sealants, coatings, membranes, deck systems, below-grade waterproofing, expansion joints, and related scopes.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, details, submittals, schedules, and project documents.

• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, field coordination, manpower planning, jobsite logistics, and production tracking.

• Knowledge of safety procedures, OSHA requirements, fall protection, PPE, hazard communication, and jobsite safety practices.

• Experience managing field crews, Foremen, Superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, and trade partners.

• Ability to manage multiple active projects and competing priorities.

• Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to identify project risks, field conflicts, quality issues, and schedule impacts.

• Experience with project reporting, daily logs, manpower tracking, production reports, and field documentation.

• General computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and project management or construction software.

• Valid driver's license required.

• Ability to travel to job sites as needed.


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with general contractors, property managers, consultants, inspectors, and commercial clients.

• Experience with manufacturer warranty requirements, inspections, and waterproofing system approvals.

• Knowledge of commercial restoration, façade restoration, concrete repair, roofing, glazing, or building envelope systems.

• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

• Experience leading large field teams across multiple projects.
