Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Technician position is a hands-on position that works closely with the Engineering staff to build and test thermal products. This includes support of all aspects of Product Development to Manufacturing transitions, manufacturing tooling design, and mid to high volume manufacturing process development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support engineering staff in the design, fabrication, testing and usage of tooling to support manufacturing processes.
- Inspect incoming materials per established procedures.
- Identify materials, both incoming and in-process, as required per material identification and inspection procedures.
- Braze or solder thermal products and support hardware.
- Fabricate deliverable hardware with manual bending and simple machining operations.
- Dimensionally inspect deliverable hardware with hand measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, feeler gauges) and portable CMM systems (FARO Arm)
- Follow established procedures for precision leak/pressure testing, fluid transfer and sealing of aerospace pressure vessels.
- Using provided documentation, complete detailed information to track manufacturing steps and traceability information for deliverable flight hardware.
- Use initiative, imagination and knowledge in the fabrication and test of thermal products and support hardware.
- Acts to assure product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Assists in the development of fabrication and test procedures and methods.
- Perform preventive maintenance.
