Millions of children and adults have begun their swimming journey at the YMCA. It is our mission to help them build confidence with every stroke and to provide a safe and secure environment. As a member of the Meadowlands YMCA aquatics team you will take on the invaluable role of protecting our swimmers.
The Meadowlands Area YMCA aquatics department is looking for energetic individuals who love the water to provide water-based exercise instruction.
Qualifications
- AEA or equivalent water aerobics certification
- Aqua Zumba certification a plus
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification
- Minimum 1 year teaching experience
- Effective communication skills necessary to inform, guide, motivate and support members.
- Knowledge of safe and proper techniques in water aerobics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Provide a high degree of member service through a professional relationship with the members in regards to their needs, concerns, and questions about the YMCA, its programs and mission.
- Modify classes and routines according to the fitness level of class participants
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and their relationship to the development of water fitness instruction.
- Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.
- Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.)
All other miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.
