TxDOT's Fort Worth District is seeking a Transportation Maintenance Technician I or II to join our team at 1208 S. Main Street, Jacksboro, TX 76458. In this role, you'll be part of a dedicated team responsible for maintaining highways and transportation infrastructure that keep Texas moving. TMT I - Salary Grade: A16 / $40,918 - $61,130

TMT II - Salary Grade: A17 / $42,976 - $64,469

A Day in the Life - Transportation Maintenance Tech I:

· Setup temporary traffic control.

· Maintenance and/or material and process inspection.

· Maintain drainage systems, dig and clean ditches and repair culverts, inlets and erosion.

· Clear debris, maintain wooded areas, clear brush, mow grass and spray roadside vegetation.

· Repair guardrails, concrete barriers, roadway delineators, milepost markers and fences.

· Helping the public during emergency situations.

· Work requires contact with private entities.

· Other duties as assigned

· Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.

A Day in the Life - Transportation Maintenance Tech II (additional duties):

· Operate a variety of equipment and perform manual labor to repair roadway surfaces and shoulders.

· Assists in inspecting traffic control devices and their placement at construction project sites for compliance with specifications for devices; safety laws, rules, regulations and the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.

· Light and heavy equipment operation requiring a Class "A" CDL.

This position is for one (1) General Transportation Tech I or II. The Texas Department of Transportation reserves the sole right in determining the level of position based on the applicant's work experience, education, skill level, and all other appropriate factors, and based on business needs.
