Forward Deployed Engineer

at Reflex

About Reflex

Reflex helps teams build and deploy web applications in Python. We’re hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with customers and turn their business workflows into reliable software.

About the role

You’ll own customer projects from discovery through deployment: understand how people work, translate their needs into clear requirements, build applications with Reflex and AI development tools, and verify that the finished software solves the problem. You’ll work closely with our founders and engineering team and bring customer feedback back into the product.

What you’ll do

• Talk with customers and end users to understand their workflows, pain points, and goals.

• Turn ambiguous requests into practical technical plans and clear acceptance criteria.

• Build full-stack Python applications with Reflex, integrating databases, APIs, and existing systems.

• Set up development and deployment environments and help customers connect authentication and data sources.

• Use AI coding tools to accelerate development while reviewing code, testing business logic, and checking the actual user experience.

• Own testing, deployment, customer feedback, and follow-through until the application works reliably.

• Turn repeatable solutions into reusable components and improvements to the Reflex platform.

What we’re looking for

• A computer science degree or at least one year of hands-on software engineering experience, with projects you can walk us through.

• Strong Python fundamentals and comfort working with SQL, APIs, and Git.

• The ability to debug across application code, data, and infrastructure.

• Clear communication and curiosity about how customers operate.

• Ownership: you can take an unclear problem, ask good questions, and drive it to a working result.

• Care for correctness, usability, and performance—not just getting a prototype running.

Nice to have

• Experience building with Reflex or other full-stack web frameworks.

• Customer-facing engineering, implementation, or consulting experience.

• Familiarity with cloud deployments, authentication, data migrations, or enterprise integrations.

• Experience using AI coding assistants to ship and verify real applications.

Location and compensation

Full-time, in-office in San Francisco. Base salary: $110,000–$155,000 annually. Equity: 0.1%.

Must be authorized to work in the United States. Reflex does not offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Why join

Work directly with customers, ship software they use, and help shape how Reflex delivers production applications. Your work will span product decisions, engineering, and customer outcomes.

When applying, tell us about something you built, the problem it solved, and what you personally owned.
