The Managing Partner accepts the role of branch “owner” and is the leader and champion for overall service quality and member experience for their branch(s).
The Managing Partner oversees delivery of a full range of advice and solutions to members and prospective members. Leading and coaching a branch team committed to service excellence they are accountable for all day-to-day operations of their branch(s) ensuring that all established policies and procedures are followed. They ensure that deposit and lending activities contribute positively to the profitability of the credit union and that members are promptly and professionally served using a member needs-based model of service.
Leadership

Model and promote Access values, service, and culture.

Provide leadership to branch team(s) by reinforcing best practices, policies, and procedures, including oversight on internal controls.

Monitor branch sales and service activities to ensure achievement of established branch goals, delivery of A Plus member service, staff engagement and adherence to all risk management standards.

Create, model and champion a consistent advice-based culture throughout the entire branch team(s).

Mentor, coach and develop team members to ensure they have every opportunity to achieve personal and corporate goals. Recognize and reward achievement and develop performance improvement plans when warranted.

Actively lead and participate in meetings, planning and training initiatives, sharing information and ideas that contribute to the organizations’ goals and success
Branch Operations

Establish sales and service objectives through the assessment of market area, local opportunities, existing member needs; developing a comprehensive plan for achievement.

Create and execute a budget plan that directs pricing/spending objectives towards profitable growth.

Collaborate to recommend innovations and improvements to policies, procedures and practices to enhance overall branch team engagement and member satisfaction.

Collaborate with the Director Service Excellence to establish individual team member performance standards and goals; construct relevant employee succession and development plans with team members monitoring progress and meeting with team members monthly to review and evaluate performance.

Recruit and hire superior performers to fill vacancies within branch team.

Resolve more complex problems and member concerns referred by member service staff to ensure the needs of members and the credit union are met.

Ensure branch premises and equipment are maintained, providing a safe and effective environment for staff and members. Make recommendations for premises improvements in the annual capital budget process.

Oversee retail lending activities to ensure work flows efficiently and there is effective team work and communication.

Adjudicate retail credit requests as referred and make appropriate decisions/recommendations based on information available with established policies and procedures.
Business Development & Community Relations

Create and support an entrepreneurial environment where all staff are encouraged to seek out new business and referral opportunities that support the branch and organizational goals.

Work with Director, Service Excellence to establish branch referral targets and business development/community engagement plans.

Act as an ambassador for the credit union by being visible in the community through professional and personal involvement in various community groups and activities .
Essential Qualifications
-
Degree or Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution is desired with studies focused on business, finance and/or management.

A background in value-based sales training and wealth management history would be an asset

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience and demonstrated proficiency managing in a progressive financial services environment. Previous demonstrated success and experience coaching and leading for high performance would be a definite asset.

Ability and willingness to adapt to and work effectively within a variety of situations and with various individuals or groups

Understanding and adherence to policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Privacy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, and Terrorist Financing Act, the Credit Union Act and Credit Union Loan Policies

Ability to use sound judgment to make timely and effective decisions that consider both short-term and long-term risks, impacts and outcomes

Demonstrated knowledge of market trends, lines of business and range of products and services offered internally and/or externally by the credit union and its competitors
