GENERAL DESCRIPTION Under general direction of the Chief Building Official, supervises and coordinates building code inspection activities and operations within the Planning and Development Department; assists with administrative and management duties related to floodplain development; coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies and the general public; assumes responsibilities of the Chief Building Official in the absence of same; and provides highly responsible and complex staff assistance to the Chief Building Official.
