The Department of Religious Studies at St. Francis Xavier University invites applications to teach courses during 2026-2027 academic year from the following list:

  • RELS 216: Superheroes and the Supernatural
  • RELS 221: Religion and the Environmental Crisis
  • RELS 222: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in World Religions
  • RELS 225: Cults and Alternative Religions
  • RELS 230: Death and Dying in World Religions
  • RELS 254: Islam
  • RELS 316: Women in Early Judaism
  • RELS 326: Hindu Deities
  • RELS 333: Religion, Violence and Peace
  • RELS 363: Roman Christianity
  • RELS 375: Islam in Canada (Online)
  • RELS 402: Religious Approaches to Sexual Diversity
  • RELS 414: Ancient Indian Myth and Ritual

Other areas in Religious Studies may be considered. A total of ten courses from the above list of courses will be offered across the fall and winter terms of the 2026-27 academic year, depending on the areas of specialization of the successful applicants. Each part time instructor can teach a maximum of four courses per academic year.

**Preference will be given to those willing to teach in person.
