execution excellence. Be a part of a team with passion for using data,
analytics, and insights to drive decision-making, and which creates custom

Our Technology Centers focus on creating a space where teams can come together
to deliver business solutions that save and improve lives. An integral part of
our company’s IT operating model, Tech Centers are globally distributed

transformation journey and drive business outcomes. These locations, in
addition to the other sites, are essential to supporting our business and
strategy.
A focused group of leaders in each Tech Center helps to ensure we can manage and improve each location, from investing in growth, success, and well-being of our people, to making sure colleagues from each IT division feel a sense of belonging to managing critical emergencies. And together, we must leverage the strength of our team to collaborate globally to optimize connections and share best practices across the Tech Centers.
Role Overview:
The Lab Integration Platform is a critical enabler of digital transformation
strategy, supporting secure, compliant, and efficient data exchange across
laboratory systems.
The Technical Analyst / Developer (TA) is responsible for the design,
development, testing, deployment, and sustainment of instrument integration
solutions, with a primary focus on Scitara DLX Adaptive Workflow development.
The role also includes supporting cloud platform engineering responsibilities
required to deploy, operate, and sustain Scitara DLX and related COTS
components in AWS-hosted environments.
This role combines hands-on integration development with pragmatic cloud and
operational ownership, ensuring solutions are compliant, scalable, and fit for
use in GxP-regulated laboratory environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Integration & Workflow Development (Primary Focus)
• Perform technical analysis and solution design for laboratory instrument and
system integrations.
• Design, develop, test, and sustain Scitara DLX Adaptive Workflows, including
APIs, OPCUAs, parsers, orchestration logic, and supporting JSON schemas.
• Translate business and functional requirements into detailed, testable
technical implementations.
• Develop backend integration services using modern integration patterns,
including APIs, orchestration, and messaging/event-driven architectures.
• Integrate Scitara DLX with laboratory and execution platforms (e.g.,
Empower, BIOVIA, MODA, GLIMS, LabX) to enable compliant instrument data
capture and data flow.
• Execute automated unit tests to support validation, release readiness, and
regression coverage.
• Support system, integration, and validation testing activities in
collaboration with QA and validation partners.
• Troubleshoot integration defects, data issues, and workflow failures across
environments.
• Contribute to reusable workflow patterns, libraries, and integration
standards.
Cloud Platform Engineering & Operations (Supporting Focus)
• Deploy and operate COTS components using Helm on AWS EKS (Kubernetes).
• Support the application lifecycle, including environment setup, upgrades,
rollbacks, backup configuration, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Contribute to and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
and/or CloudFormation for AWS resources supporting Scitara DLX.
• Support CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) for controlled deployment of
workflows and platform components.
• Follow and contribute to IaC Patterns/modules where implemented.
• Configure and support required cloud services, as applicable:
o AWS RDS (MS SQL Server)
o Amazon S3 / MinIO-compatible storage
o Amazon MQ (RabbitMQ)
o Amazon ElastiCache (Redis)
• Support platform security, monitoring, and logging configurations in
alignment with enterprise standards.
Note: Cloud responsibilities focus on enablement, sustainment, and operational
support of Scitara DLX—not primary platform architecture ownership.
Validation, Compliance & Documentation
• Collaborate with laboratory, quality, and validation teams to ensure
solutions support GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, and ALCOA++ expectations.
• Provide technical input and evidence to support validation activities,
including automated testing alignment (e.g., Tosca/Xray).
• Author and maintain technical documentation such as design specifications,
workflow logic descriptions, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
• Support change control and release readiness activities for regulated
deployments.
Ways of Working
• Work closely with Business Analysts, Testers, Platform, Infrastructure, and
Networking teams.
• Participate in Agile delivery, sprint planning, estimation, and day-to-day
task tracking using Jira and Confluence.
• Proactively identify integration risks, technical debt, and opportunities
for improvement.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or related
field (or equivalent professional experience).
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience supporting integration middleware or workflow
platforms, including Scitara DLX or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience designing and developing Adaptive Workflows using
design best practices.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and JavaScript; working knowledge of C++.
• Experience developing parsers and custom orchestration logic using Python
and JavaScript.
• Proficiency with automated testing for validation purposes, including but
not limited to:
o Python frameworks (unittest, pytest, doctest, nose2, hypothesis)
o JavaScript frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Chai, Jasmine, AVA)
• Experience developing automated tests using Tosca and Robot Framework for
Systems and Integrations.
• Experience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Redis) and working knowledge of
relational databases (Oracle, Postgres).
• Practical experience deploying or supporting applications on AWS, including:
o Kubernetes / EKS environments
o Helm-based application deployment
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in GitHub Actions: workflow design, workflow_call reusability,
composite action authoring, matrix build strategies, and environment-scoped
secret management
• Working knowledge of JSON Schema mapping, Data governance concepts and FAIR
data standards.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence for task tracking and documentation.
• Ability to work within enterprise deployment, release, and change management
processes.
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands-on experience developing and sustaining Scitara DLX workflows in
regulated environments.
• AWS professional-level certification (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional
or DevOps Engineer Professional), strongly preferred; expected to be obtained
within the first 3 months of starting the role.
• Experience in implementing AWS services such as RDS SQL Server, S3 and
message broker like RabbitMQ and datastore like Redis.
• Experience with observability and logging platforms (CloudWatch, Grafana,
nobl9).
• Experience using Xray for requirements and test traceability.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining JSON schemas.
• Hands on experience in Allotrope data models.
• Familiarity with Postman or Swagger for API testing and documentation.
• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
• Experience working in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated IT
environments.
