Press Brake Operator

Position Summary

The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines to bend and form metal parts according to engineering drawings and production specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to produce high-quality parts while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal and plate materials
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings
  • Select proper tooling, dies, and machine settings for each job
  • Measure, inspect, and verify parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, protractors, etc.)
  • Ensure parts meet required tolerances, dimensions, and quality standards
  • Perform test bends and make adjustments as needed
  • Monitor machine operation and maintain consistent production quality
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Document production and inspection results as required
  • Work with supervisors, engineering, and quality teams to resolve production or quality issues

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing shop environment with exposure to noise, metal dust, and machinery.
  • Standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required.
  • May involve overtime to meet production schedules.
