The Role
As a Mechanical Engineering Technician on the Robot Services team, you will
disassemble, diagnose, repair, and reassemble complex humanoid robot
components. Your work will directly influence design improvements and
reliability enhancements across our robots. This is a hands-on, in-person role
with growth opportunities into mechanical engineering positions.
You Will

Perform precision disassembly and repair of micro-scale mechanical assemblies

Rework delicate components requiring sub-millimeter precision

Diagnose mechanical failures using hands-on inspection and diagnostic tools

Conduct functional testing and validate repaired components to exact standards

Collaborate with engineers to document failures and recommend design updates

Create detailed technical documentation for repair procedures and assembly sequences
Must Have
-
Hands-on experience with precise mechanical work (electronics repair, mechanical assembly, watchmaking, or similar)

Manual dexterity and skill with intricate assemblies

Experience with precision hand tools (fine crimping, pinning, fastening)

Proficiency in using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauge pins)

Basic command-line or terminal experience for diagnostics

Strong troubleshooting instincts and attention to detail

Ability to work methodically through complex repair processes

Comfortable performing physical tasks including setup and post-processing

Able to work on-site in Palo Alto full-time

Clear communicator with the ability to relay findings to engineering teams
